  • German Chocolate Cake Recipe
Every year my husband requests that I bake him his favorite German Chocolate Cake.  No boxed variety will do and the least I can do for him on his birthday for all the hard work he does in supporting our family is to bake a fresh, homemade cake of his choice for him.  I prefer homemade cakes over the boxed kind anyways, but that can be our little secret!  Here is the...

  • Introducing Jacqueline Renner, Me, Myself, and I!
Trisha from MomDot brought up a good point today about bloggers not knowing much about a person and recalling a blogger, not by their name or photo, but from their blog name and logo.  The whole point of blogging is to get into a person’s life and be able to relate to them well enough to be able to recognize them outside of their blog.  To remedy this problem,...

  • My BlogHer 2009 Experience!
If I could summarize BlogHer 2009 in one word, overwhelming, would be the best fit! It was a fast paced whirlwind with both negative and positive aspects.  There was certainly plenty of surprises that I wasn’t prepared for.  I never expected to witness grown women lose their composure and drink to excess, a woman parading around naked at a BlogHer party, or seeing...

  • My Answer To The Question: What To Wear & What I’m Wearing At BlogHer 2009?
Everyone going to the 2009 BlogHer Conference has been buzzing and fretting over what to wear to BlogHer.  I got caught up in that whole business for a little while, worrying if I’ll be overdressed as that is my tendency as I love to wear dresses and skirts.  I took a step back and then realized, you should go as what best represents you and who you are!  By...

Mommy Confessions is a meme started by Victoria of Life Starring Ellie and Eve.  It’s a weekly series where we are free to say what’s on our minds and get what needs said off our chests.  So here goes my short and sweet mommy confession of the week:  I have a lazy eye that usually freaks people out the first time they notice it on me! • Rebuilding Phase Of The Cleanse
Last Monday, we started the rebuilding portion of the cleanse.  We are now able to introduce soy sauce, vinegar, tofu, popcorn, nuts, legumes, dried fruit, and fruit juice back into our diets.  I’m so excited!  Now I can whip up more interesting and palatable meals!  Dustin is thrilled he can have popcorn again and has definitely made up for lost time and consumed...

  • Mommy Confessions: I’m A Sexual Abuse Survivor
This is my first Mommy Confessions, a meme started by Victoria of Life Starring Ellie and Eve.  It’s a weekly series where we are free to say what’s on our minds and get what needs said off our chests.  So here goes my mommy confession of the week: I was at the tender age of four when I was sexually abused the first time by my one of my uncles.  I was too...

  • Sending Some Linky Love With A Blog Link-A-Thon
I’m constantly looking for good reads so I took part in a Blog Link-A-Thon hosted by MomDot.  Thanks to all the mom blogs that participated, I have over 300 blogs to familiarize myself with!  Some I have noticed are ones that I frequent often but I can’t wait to check out the rest of the blogs I haven’t come across before!  Maybe it’ll inspire...

  • Cleanse Salad Dressing Recipe
I’ve been getting questions on what I have been coming up with to feed my family since our diet is pretty restricted on the cleanse so I’ve decided to post a new recipe every week, providing that we would use the recipe again ourselves.  This week, we’ll start it off easy and since I love using my Vita-Mix, I’ll share this easy and refreshing...
