IHOP Griddle Melts Mom Review:
It had been awhile since my husband and I had a few hours out running errands together alone without the kids. This prompted me to use our IHOP gift card for our lunch date so we can enjoy a quiet meal together before my midwife appointment. At IHOP, they have introduced a new line up to their menu: the IHOP Griddle Melts! As I took a look at what was available, it was hard to choose which one I would try during our visit.
The IHOP Griddle Melts come in the following three varieties:
- Spinach, Roasted Pepper & Cheese:
Sautéed spinach in a fluffy egg omelet topped with roasted red peppers, onions, melted Provolone, Parmesan and Pepper Jack cheeses on grilled artisan sourdough bread. Served with your choice of hash browns, French fries or seasonal fruit.
Smoked ham and sautéed peppers and onions in a classic omelet, topped with sliced ham, melted American cheese and served on grilled artisan sourdough bread. Served with your choice of hash browns, French fries or seasonal fruit.
- Ham & Egg Melt:
Sliced ham and melted Swiss and American cheeses over a fluffy egg omelet served on grilled artisan sourdough bread. Served with your choice of hash browns, French fries or seasonal fruit.
During our lunch date at IHOP, I opted for the Spinach, Roasted Pepper, & Cheese IHOP Griddle Melt with a side of seasoned fries. What can I say? What preggo can turn down a side of fries?! I ordered a full sandwich so I could share with my husband, who ordered crepes for himself to share with me. That’s one of our favorite things to do at restaurants: ordering a different dish from one another and sharing them.
Mmm! The Griddle Melt really surprised me. I’m not really a big sandwich fan, especially egg type sandwiches, but these were tasty. I loved the crunchy sourdough bread and the combination of flavors from the red pepper, spinach, onions, parmesan cheese, and pepper jack cheese. They were a perfect mixture of yumness and half a sandwich filled me up pretty fast. My husband also liked the how well each of the ingredients complemented one another in one delicious griddle melt.
If you haven’t tried the IHOP Griddle Melts yet, I suggest you start with the one I ordered if you like spinach, red bell peppers, and pepper jack as much as I do!
