Our 21st Sponsor in the 2010 Christmas Blessings and Holiday Gift Guide is Fagor America.
Cooking is definitely one of my passions so you can bet that cooking appliances rank high when it comes to gift giving! One particular cooking appliance has stuck out more than any other this season: the Fagor 3-in-1 Multi Cooker. In my small kitchen, any way to consolidate appliances is a necessity. Not only does this amazing small appliance take the place of a rice cooker, pressure cooker, and slow cooker, but it delivers mouth watering meals in one stylishly, handsome appliance!
The 3-in-1 Multi Cooker features a 6 quart removable cooking pot, touch buttons, and safety features galore. The lid has a self locking mechanism with automatic pressure release settings. The lid won’t open when pressure has built up in the pot and there’s added protection against the unit overheating. Included with the electric multi cooker is a recipe book with over 40 recipes that will appeal to just about everyone. I’ve tried several recipes in the provided cook book including spaghetti sauce, stuffing, and Chinese Chicken with great success and have enthusiastically continued to try out more recipes from the book.
Cooking rice has never been so easy and quick! When you set the multi cooker to steam rice, rice comes out fluffy and not soggy or dry. We’ve tried the rice cooking function with brown rice, white rice, millet, and other grains with great success. Making flavorful pilafs are effortless and done in less time than cooking over a stove top. It’s definitely a more efficient way to cook!
I had never owned a pressure cooker before, but I had always been intrigued at cooking nutritious meals in a fraction of the time. When I’m pressed for time, I’ve still been able to put piping hot, tasty meals for my family in record time with the multi cooker. Every meal that I’ve cooked has come out delicious and I could hardly believe how fast it’s been to put together a whole meal with its nutrients in tact on the dinner table!
One of my favorite features of the Fagor 3-in-1 Multi Cooker is that it has a browning feature. I love that I don’t have to dirty more pots and pans to put together a meal to slow cook. Just this past Thanksgiving, I browned veggies in this slow cooker in order to make stuffing and I was thrilled to keep dirty dishes to a minimum. The stuffing turned out tasty and it gave me the ability to focus on the other courses of the meal that I would bring over to my parent’s house. This is just one of the many dishes I’ve prepared successfully with the slow cooker function! Another plus is that when the set cooking time is over, it automatically switches to the warming function so that you won’t overcook your food and can rest easy while this multi cooker takes over the cooking.
This appliance is a breeze to clean up too! The lid comes apart so you can wash them by hand in warm, soapy water and since the base has a stainless steel exterior, it can be cleaned quickly with a damp cloth. The inner pot can either be hand washed or placed in the dishwasher for cleaning. All parts are easy to reassemble and storing the Fagor Multi Cooker is simple and easy to tuck away on a shelf until it’s next use.
The only set back I’ve had using the 3-in-1 Multi Cooker is that I’ve constantly had to readjust the plastic gasket to get it fitted right in order to maintain the seal when I’ve used it for pressure cooking and to make rice. I think it would be better improved if the gasket were somehow built into the top of the lid so you wouldn’t have to fit it and align it properly yourself. Other than that, it’s been a remarkable asset to my kitchen, being a time saver and a much needed space saver!
