Electrolux Ultimate Banana Split Campaign For A Cause and $25 American Express Gift Card Giveaway!

The Electrolux brand refrigerator and freezer have split up!  You heard that right, they are now standing solo and I think it’s a wonderful thing.  You would not believe how many times I’ve griped about not having enough room in my refrigerator or freezer to store my food and drinks in and I have always thought having them be their own separate appliances  would be more of a benefit to my family of seven.  With separate appliances, there would be more room to organize and keep my food fresh and less trips to the grocery store.  It’s a win all around!

To celebrate the splitting up of the fridge and freezer, Kelly Ripa has partnered with the “Emporer of Ice Cream” Stephen Bruce, the owner and founder of the famous Serendipity 3 in New York City.  They have teamed up in an effort to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund through the Electrolux Ultimate Banana Split Campaign.  For every virtual banana split created, Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund as part of its $750,000 commitment to help fight ovarian cancer.   They’ve also sweetened the deal as anyone who builds their own banana split will be automatically entered for a chance to win the daily prize of $50 towards summer treats and the grand prize:  the new Electrolux stand alone refrigerator and freezer!

It only takes a couple minutes to create your banana split of choice and help raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.  Serendipity 3 has also included their ultimate banana split recipes on the site to help you get inspired in putting together your cool confections.  Take a look at my own 4th of July inspired virtual banana split above.  It was fun to put together and it made me feel good that I was able to help raise money for a good cause.  You can create your own today and every day at www.kelly-confidential.com

I’d put it together with a spoon. Just kidding. I’d have to have chocolate ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and a cherry on the very top.

  6. Sarah L says:

I’d start with a banana. Then I’d do 3 scoops of primo vanilla ice cream, topped with caramel sauce and then plenty of real whipped cream. (no cherry, thanks)

Our favorite ice cream shop closed a couple of years ago. I used to get a banana split with a scoop of Midnight Chocolate ice cream on either end and Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream in the middle. My three toppings were hot fudge, hot fudge and hot fudge. Nuts, whipped cream and a cherry on top! Yummmm.
