Elefun and Friends Games Giveaway!
My Blog Spark | admin | November 14, 2009 at 1:47 pmOne of the activities we look forward to doing during our weekly Kids Night is getting together, being silly, and playing games. Sometimes it’s hard to find games that will include the whole family in on the fun. Hasbro has a line of preschool games from their Elefun and Friends Collection that lets even the littlest ones participate in the good times and thanks to MyBlogSpark™, we were able to play Giraffalaff Limbo and Scatterpillar Scramble that gave us a night of laughs and enjoyable moments with our family together.
Elizabeth, Ethan, and Liberty had oodles of fun playing the Giraffalaff Limbo game! In this limbo game, they bring the excitement of how low you can go to a new level for kids 36 months to 6 years. Included in this game is a spinner and wherever it lands, you must do what the challenge it calls for. There are six challenges of various levels in which you must complete without knocking Mr. Giraffalaff himself down to move onto the next round. Those challenges are classic limbo, the crab walk, crawl, giraffe walk, forward, and backward. If you happen to bump Giraffalaff down, he then ensues in crazy laughter that gets my kids giggling and not feeling bad that they weren’t able to successfully complete the round and have to sit out the rest of the game.
I would say that the age range is right on for this type of game. Although my 8 year old loved playing this game with her younger brother and sister, she found it to be too difficult to maneuver most of the challenges due to her height. Liberty, who is 3 years old, had a little trouble being able to properly do two of the challenges due to dexterity issues in the beginning, but with practice was soon able to master those new moves and was thrilled to learn how to do them properly without knocking over Giraffalaff. My son who is 5 years old had no problems whatsoever and I loved how in a small space, they can be physically active together and learn to laugh with each other as they compete against one another on who can go the lowest!
GIRAFFALAFF LIMBO is the crazy new game of “how low can you go?” Spin the dial to try one of the 6 limbo styles: classic limbo, crab walk, crawl, giraffe walk, bend forward or backward. The game’s built-in sound will play an encouraging song as preschoolers try not to bump into Giraffalaff. If he’s knocked over, he’ll roll on the floor in laughter. The player that passes under Giraffalaff at the lowest level wins.
Scatterpillar Scramble had my kids antsy on who can balance all eight of the marbles in the shortest amount of time while the caterpillar dances and moves it body around to music! Now this is one game my 8 year old daughter excelled in and had the upper hand being older and more coordinated. This didn’t deter her younger siblings from challenging her and it’s a wonderful game to help strengthen your child’s eye and hand coordination.
Although the younger kids couldn’t quite beat their sister, they never gave up trying their little hearts out to see if they could out beat their own previous times. It was a little difficult for Liberty, being a year younger than the recommended age, but she was determined to not be left out of all the fun and enjoyed every minute of it. The only caution I see is that you will have to be careful if you have babies and toddlers in the home as stray marbles do happen in the course of the game and could pose a choking hazard.
In SCATTERPILLAR SCRAMBLE kids will do their best to balance marbles in the hands of one very wiggly caterpillar. Kids will have fun dancing along to the music with Scatterpillar in this fast-paced marble game. The first player to securely place all 8 marbles in Scatterpillar’s hands wins. SCATTERPILLAR SCRAMBLE was named the 2009 Preschool Game of the Year by Creative Child Magazine.
The Elefun & Friends collection, which also includes Elefun, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and Gator Golf, provides a great way for parents and their kids to enjoy silly, active playtime together.
But the fun doesn’t stop with the games! Kids can also experience the fantasy world of Elefun & Friends online by visiting www.elefunandfriends.com and entering the special code that can be found inside each Elefun & Friends game box. Once the code is entered, kids can access The Tangled Tale, an Elefun & Friends animated short. This entertaining tale features Elefun on an adventure to untangle a kite string, which ultimately leads him to the true meaning of friendship. The Elefun & Friends online experience also lets kids play games and sing along to songs like “Friends’ til the End” and “Follow that String” that help remind children of the importance of fun and play!

When we were kids we would pretend to be various animals… and bark or whinny or chatter like the animal we were pretending to be.We would stay in character all day.It could get very funny at dinner or bath time o I have played the same games with my children with the same hilarious results. It is a great tool for the imagination.

A silly moment from last night – my daughter had a tall rubbermaid container on as a hat, she was standing on the lid for the turkey brining bucket (while still clean and not on the bucket of course) and waving bye-bye to us. She looked like she was ready to say “Beam me up, Scotty!” and she continued this game for quite a while, waving bye-bye only when standing on the lid.

The kids and us play Uno Attack and the middle boys is so funny. He always ends up with a stack of cards bigger than him. When the cards come out at him he always jumps. It’s just funny the way he acts..

My nephew loves to watch me juggle because I CAN’T juggle. I throw the balls up in the air and they fall on the ground and I say “It’s just too hard!” and he giggles uncontrollably and asks me to do it again.

we always have fun when we play with the grandkids – the 2 year old thinks it’s a blast to steal grandpa’s “spot” in bed and yell for him she’s in his spot so he’ll come get her. The older boys we have a blast with Wii and with remote control cars and target practice and board games
