Wordless Wednesday: Elizabeth’s and Ethan’s First Kill!
Wordless Wednesdays | admin | October 13, 2009 at 6:55 pmThey are so proud to have gotten their first animals by rifle with their Daddy’s help: spruce hens! They even insisted on frying up the hearts and eating them right after their hunt just like Daddy does! While I’m not a fan of eating hearts or organs of any kind, they gobbled them up from the pan in a hurry!
Happy WW! Leave your links so I can drop by and leave a comment!

Well, good for them! I remember helping my dad hunt when I was a kid and I was always so proud. I can’t say that I’ve ever eaten the heart of anything though…those are some brave kids!

Oh they do look excited. My mom has a photo where my brother (who was like 4 at the time) was dressed in bow hunting gear (with the black paint lol) with his little plastic bow and arrow set like he had killed this huge buck or something lol.

Awww, they look so proud! I miss deer meat, but no one here hunts. I married a city boy. I’d go, but it’s too cold and too early LOL.

I don’t come from a hunting family, so this is all foreign to me. Congrats to them, though. They look very proud. I eat organ meats, but no hearts for me either.

My first kill was fowl also.. Was trying to figure out what those were… Well, congrats to them… Hearts aren’t too bad… The boys (and yes me too) use to eat the deer brains with eggs for breakfast sounds horrid but is surprisingly good.. plus no waste of deer

That is so sweet. My daughter talks about going hunting with daddy, but I am not sure if she will be brave enough. I know when she goes fishing with daddy she makes him bring the fish home and after he cleans them she makes him cook it for her. She knows its all part of the cycle of life.
