Through the Mom Trials:  This Summer we are planning to expand our outdoor kids toys collection and Step 2 is a natural choice to find fun, durable, and quality made kids toys.  I received the Water Rush Quarry from Step 2 and my kids are having the time of their lives playing with this sand and water table!  My first thoughts was that this outdoor toy would be difficult and time consuming to put together myself.   Boy was I wrong when I took it out of the box and realized the folks at Step 2 know how to make a mom happy that they not only must they make their products kid friendly, but mom friendly too!

 The Water Rush Quarry was a cinch to assemble and I had it ready for the kids within 10 minutes!  You simply place the stand under the top play area and have the top section rest on the bottom play area.  Then you add the bucket, tunnel, dam, crane, slide, and bridges easily just placing them in the provided holes.  There’s no snapping the play pieces in so the kids can change up the look and function of the sand and water table without damaging the pieces and it makes it effortless to take the pieces off when you’re ready to store it in the winter.  The top can be placed over the bottom play area for a single, sand only play area and covers the sand in the bottom area to keep it protected from the elements or when you’re tucking it away for the season.  The pieces are made with good construction and the toy is sturdy for my kids to hop in there and cool off from the Summer heat when a pool of water is created by the “river”.

My kids just love filling up the bucket up with water and watching the water funnel through the “water channel” from the top to the bottom much like a flowing river.  They were also enthusiastic to play with the crane where they could dig up the sand and make piles while the others pretended to be working in the sand with the provided trucks.  They had a blast pushing the contsruction trucks through the sand and using the crane to fill the back of the trucks with sand.  It makes an excellent play activity that provides good interaction between kids and encourages team play as well as help develop good motor and social skills.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen my kids play outside as often as when we received this Water Rush Quarry!

The Step 2 Water Rush Quarry retails for $99.99 and I think that is a fantastic price for a sand and water table that provides hours on end of outdoor fun and entertainment and will last season through season!
