Meet the Company:
In late fall of 1987 I had a “crazy” idea that forever changed my life. (Check out the first newspaper article about my original concept!) While eating in my favorite small, local Chinese restaurant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I wondered “Why doesn’t anyone make fortune cookies in fun colors and fruit flavors that actually taste good, like Jelly Belly does with its gourmet jelly beans?”
I was tired of my fortune cookies tasting bland, in one flavor choice and sometimes almost cardboard-like in taste. So, I decided to pioneer the idea and take on the challenge myself. Cold logic should have warned me about how hard my Willy Wonka style idea would be to pull off…
In fact, that “out of the box” decision has become my life’s work and full-time career for the last 15 years! And it’s taken me on a magical journey into the age-old-mystery of fortune cookie making and chinese proverbs.
A Totally Different Concept and Wild New Taste!
I called 8 different Chinese fortune cookie companies back in late 1987, and tried unsuccessfully to find any one of them that thought my idea of flavors and colors was a good idea. Finally, my 9th contact was willing to listen to me…For the next 2 years we painstakingly experimented and created tens of thousands of bad looking AND bad tasting batches of fortune cookies. It was a frustrating and expensive learning curve.Recipe after recipe after recipe…Finally after a bazillion cookies — we “cracked the code.” We mastered the ancient art of making fortune cookies in vibrant colors and flavors. It was a EUREKA moment! From that very small and humble beginning, I’ve gone from not just inventing the very first flavors introduced to the Chinese-only industry (my first five flavors were strawberry, lemon, orange, blueberry, and mint in 1987) but I’ve gone on to create and manufacture a whole fun menu-of-flavors and a fireworks of brilliant colors you can customize with your own sayings or promotions inside.Since 1987 I’ve invented a total of 17 different, delicious, and turbo-charged flavors used by many companies, restaurants and businesses across the U.S.My goal is to make literally the best-tasting, best-looking and most memorable fortune cookies on the market. And I spare no expense in my chosen obsession!
Through the Mom Trials: I always look forward to eating those little fortune cookies after a meal at a Chinese restaurants. What I was really after was to read the fun message that would be found tucked inside it since the fortune cookie itself lacked flavor and often had a wax like texture. Sometimes I would break the cookie and discard it on my plate without eating it depending on my mood just to read the message inside. Then I came across a company online that offered flavored fortune cookies and chocolate dipped fortune cookies and that intrigued me! Someone had finally figured out how boring the traditional fortune cookie can be and made a business out of making them tasty and extraordinary!
Fancy Fortune Cookies sent me a custom and personalized giant fortune cookie to surprise my husband for Father’s Day. Unfortunately, upon opening the box, the giant fortune cookie was broken, but that didn’t deter my husband or kids from thinking it was impressive and they couldn’t wait to tear into it. I could tell when I pulled the custom fortune cookie out of the box, it had been carefully packaged with cut shredded paper, but I think the long distance and rough mail carrier handling is why it arrived to me damaged. I mentioned this to one of the owners of this company and she assured me that in the rare cases you do receive a damaged cookie, they will promptly ship a replacement for free! What terrific customer service!
The personalized giant fortune cookie I received was dipped in chocolate and adorned with colorful confetti as well as candy tools. Even broken, it still made a pretty presentation for my husband for Father’s Day. After the oohs and ahhs were exhibited, the kids raced to get the first nibble off of the chocolate dipped fortune cookie since daddy couldn’t eat it. I took one sample of it and let me tell you, this is no bland fortune cookie! The fortune cookie itself was slightly sweet with the just the right crispy texture and crunch. The chocolate that topped the cookie was delicious and gave it a an extra yummy touch. If I hadn’t been on a cleanse, I would have gladly eaten much more than one bite, but I can say I did savor the bite as long as I could.
Although my husband was strict about staying on the diet and didn’t even try a bite, he just loved the message from the kids that I had personalized for the fortune cookie. It stated that Daddies as special as you are making this world better one day at a time! We love you! This is a fantastic and tasty way to give that special someone a heartfelt message for any occasion and I would gladly do this again for birthdays and other holidays or just because. They also provide regular size fortune cookies in 11 different flavors that can be customized with color and personal message as favors that would be perfect for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and much more!

I sure would like to have these for guests at my daughters baby shower next month!
PIna colada sounds like a good flavor to add.
Pizza flavored cookies might be interesting.
Looking at the flavor list, I thought first that banana-flavored cookies would be good, and then I also thought of almond. Then I couldn’t pick between the two, so I decided to list both.
Maybe a banana flavor? That’d be yummy.
I just saw that the person before me had the same idea! See, now you know we’re on to something good!
