Wordless Wednesday: Chitina, Alaska Dipnetting And Camping Trip
Wordless Wednesdays | admin | July 7, 2009 at 7:26 pmThis was how we spent Father’s Day Weekend- a last minute dipnetting and camping trip for the whole family hoping to get our winter’s supply of salmon for our freezer!
Driving into the small town of Chitina.
Most of us took rvs. We usually use tents, but with the heavy wind and unpredictable weather, it’s much nicer to use campers.
The kids loved to take walks and get right into the creek to fish out treasure (aka rocks).
We bring our four wheelers out to keep the kids entertained.
This ride on toy my sil brought along was a lifesaver! Molly loved hopping on it and it kept her content for long periods of time.
My sister’s camper was the destination for most of our downtime and came in handy when I was feeling under the weather. That should have been my first clue I was pregnant when I threw up that night out of the blue!
And another low key activity the girls and I did during our trip when I wasn’t feeling good was paint our nails and put make up on each other.
Well, we didn’t get our limit or fill our freezer with our winter’s supply of salmon on this trip but we sure did have lots of fun together as a family! We did get enough to enjoy through the fall season though!
Happy WW! Leave your link so I can visit you and leave you a comment!

Looks like fun. Except for the throwing up part. I would have been more into the painting nails and putting on makeup. It does make me want to visit Alaska some day though.
Happy WW!

Looks like a lot of fun. I’ve never been camping and I think I would like to go in an RV. Taking the ride-on toy, the polish and girl stuff along with the four wheelers seems like it makes for a full and interesting trip.
