Through the Mom Trials: It never occurred to me that I may need prescription eye glasses at this stage of my life.  Both my parents wear glasses but they didn’t have to until much later in their lives.  I had been going through some problems with my eyes that I felt was due to allergies and had them checked out by a local optometrist so I would know for sure.  Come to find out, my symptoms did in fact sound like they were from allergies but I was also surprised to find out that I’m a bit near sighted and have a slight astigmatism in my right eye which makes driving at night a little difficult for me.  I certainly didn’t want to pay the full retail price for a pair of glasses that I would only use when I’m driving at night so I was pleased to be referred by a friend to Eye Buy Direct and be introduced to their wide variety of affordable eye glasses!

The process to choose the right glasses for me was so easy!  It was effortless to sort through their large selection of eye glasses to find the frames that would reflect my personality and style.  Their search engine is terrific to use in finding a specific type of frame or eye glasses.  It narrows it down to the exact specifications you are looking for so you won’t have to weed through a lot of frames to find the perfect one.  I happened to take a liking to their pink Buttercup frames that I found to be both sassy and sweet and went to customize them with my new prescription in hand.

To get the correct prescription for your glasses, you simply plug in your numbers from your prescription in the fields that they provide for you.  I thought this would be a hard process for me being new to prescription eye glasess, but this wasn’t the case with their easy to follow prescription form.  There was one item othat I was unsure about and left my thougths in the comment section so they would be able to take note of what part of my prescription that I was questioning.  In addition to getting the right prescription for your eye glasses, you can personalize them by adding several optional features to your eye glasses that would fit your lifestyle.  These extras include anti-scratch, anti-reflective, UV coating, color tint, Photochromic (Light-adjusting), party glasses, and eye glass thickness.

The Buttercup eye glasses that I customized were under $100, much more affordable than my husband’s eye glasses that he purchased a few months ago with a few hundred dollar price tag.  With everyone’s budget a little tighter this year due to the economy, I was pleased that it wouldn’t have cost me a fortune to find eye glasses that would keep me safe driving at night.  They came within a week and included a plastic, hard cover eye glass case and microfiber cleaning cloth.  I think that’s a quick turn around for this type of specialized product and arrived sooner than I had initially expected.

Using eye glasses did take some getting used to and the frames fit me like I had imagined!  They look just like they did in the photos in the website and am happy to have a positive experience acquiring my first prescription eye glasses.  The prescription must have been right on too because I see with better clarity during my night time driving.  The next time I’ll need to purchase eye glasses again, I’ll have to use their Eye Try system where you can upload your own photo and virtually try out their frames before you buy them.  What a fun way to make sure the eye glasses you’re buying are the perfect ones for you!
