I had been keeping an eye on Babycapes for awhile now and was so thrilled when Suzi, another generous sponsor for Bloggers Give, asked if I wanted to review one! They’re so adorable and stylish and looked perfect for outfitting a baby and small child for the Alaskan winter. Instead of bundling up your child in several layers of blankets or outfitting them with a bulky coat that isn’t safe for your child to be buckled into their car seat, Babycapes provides a better and safer coat alternative that’s made to fit newborns all the way up to preschoolers. They offer three types of capes to suit all your cold weather needs: the light Minky Cuddle that is great for spring and fall, the Minky Marshmallow for cooler Summer morning and evenings, and the Minky Sherpa Suede for super protection from the dropping temperatures and chilly winds. Your child is ready to brave the cold weather within seconds as all you have to do is slip it on over their heads and quickly snap it up and you’re on your way!
We went to the zoo recently and I was able to use it in conjunction with a baby carrier and it couldn’t have been easier or more convenient! Instead of Molly wearing a thick snowsuit and being bunched up in the carrier, we were both comfortable while I was wearing her. I also liked that she didn’t have to wear mittens as she kept her arms tucked in the cape where it kept her hands toasty warm. I don’t know about you but I’ve never had an infant that liked to wear mittens and would get mad whenever I would put mittens on them. I was also relieved that this could also double as a blanket or nursing cover so I didn’t have to drag more than I needed to bring with me on our trip. This is by far my favorite outerwear to put on her while she rides in my baby carrier and so many people have stopped me asking where I got this and happily refer them to the Babycapes website.
I love the buttery softness of the Sherpa lining and minky suede and it provides luxurious warmth and comfort for your baby or toddler. Molly likes to nuzzle her face in the soft hood and snuggle up with the bottom of the cape when she’s ready to nap in the car. The cape goes over the car seat harness so even if the weather fluctuates, you won’t need to adjust the straps every time the temperature gets colder or warmer. There’s nothing between your child and the car seat straps so you know that your baby is securely strapped in properly which increases their safety while riding in a vehicle. This cape works just as well for strollers and because the length of the cape isn’t overly long, you won’t have to worry about the bottom of it getting caught up in the wheels or dragging on the ground getting dirty.

These are so adorable. One day my hubby will let me splurge on one.
I need to get one of these for my son! It’d be perfect for those freezing cold mornings in the carseat. It looks so cozy and warm.
